There's a leaked insyde bios modification software insydeEzH2O. It enables you to change the logo on any insydeH2O bios. it's in chinese or some other language but hey, it works.

i'm currently using the gateway ZG7_3103 bios on my aao, because of the extra screen brightness settings, obviously.

start up the program, press ctrl+o, load your bios.fd file. click logo

load your own 640x480 .jpg or .bmp (there should be 3 logos you can change)

don't forget to save the modified bios (ctrl+s). flash using winflash.
    the computer will restart, enjoy.

its a cool tool indeed........ works great.... on thing i would like to share as i was modding is you have 100kb limit if you want to modify logos... you can change all logos in bios screen.... the dimensions and bit depths and format is shown in the program's logo modification section. and the most important thing is as soon as you finish modding don't flash it momentarily.... don't forget to open the modified .fd file in the same prog. because if the filesize of the modded images in total exceeds then you may end up with a dead system. therefore i suggest you guys to open the modified fd in the program. it it opens successfully then you are ready to flash the system with modded image.

    have fun...

    Thoughts on creating your logo:

The bios displays at a resolution of 600x480 a ratio of 1.25 (that's why the large image is sized as such)
    The aao's screen is 1024x600 a ratio of 1.7

What this means is that your logo will be stretched out so you need to compensate.

    1.7 / 1.25 = 1.3653 (the difference in ratio)

    1.3653 * 600 = 819.2 (size you should design in)

The way I did it was to create an image (in GIMP) that is 819x480 and I did my design within this frame (to the exact way I wanted it to look).

Then to get the final version to import into the BIOS I scaled the image to 600x480 then saved it as a .pcx (this will look squished in your editor but look perfect on boot up)

    Other things to note:
on aao a150 there are 2 other images that overlay on top of the large primary (I don't know the exact locations on the screen) be aware of them while designing. Also the bottom of the screen will have the F2 / F12 boot line which will also be above the main image.

If modifing the other images as well don't forget to multiple you desired width by 1.3653, design in that, then scale the image back to the required dimensions before you load it in the BIOS.

    Good Luck.

I followed your instructions to add my logo to the BIOS. I added the logo using cbom215 to my bios file and then checked the bios file using the bios editor. The editor showed the logo and then I flashed the BIOS using the WinFlash utility. All went well... but it does not show my logo when booting up! All it shows are the usual POST messages. The BIOS is Award Modular Bios ver 6.
