Is the recovery dvd enough to do that? which partition to install the system (deleting xp)? USB modem (huawei e220) works on linpus? Any other advice or links to this issue will be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Did your One come with XP? If so, you will only have XP on the DVD. Linpus can be downloaded here http://www.linpus.com/download_1.php and get your drivers from Acer. Check your modem manufacturers website for Linux compatibility.

Do a search on the forum for dualbooting XP and Linpus, installing Linpus.

If you've got XP on a 120 GB or 160GB HDD, I strongly recommend dual booting. Recovery systems have a tendency to wipe your disk.
