How to compile source code.

Hi!

Ive been searching for a guide as to how to compile source code for installing but have failed to find any clear and concise ones.

Im hoping that someone here wil be able to tell me how to do this, what programs to use, ect.

Care to explain what software are you referring to?

Are you a dev? Or want to be?

 

And which platform, even though I'm guessing you mean Linux - in that case it is almost a prerequisite to know which distrobution you are talking about, since it differs how the various distro's package the necessary tools and libraries.

 

I am running the linpus that comes with the AAO.

I am not a developer although I hope to become one. At the moment, I want to compile the code for the distributed.net client. I have got it downloaded already and it currently opens up in xarchiver, if thats any help...?
