How to connect a printer?

    Hi, am new to all this have acer 0751 and my desktop has now given up the ghost and I need to be able to print documents have HP printer with installation cd, do I need to buy a dvd/rw to be able to use a printer and how do I connect please.

    You can probably find the drivers and software downloadable at the HP site - I found all of it for my printer had been updated from the original CD when I installed on the netbook last year, so it was actually better that way. Just be sure you follow directions as to when to connect and fire up the printer during the installation.

    i downloaded straight from hp for my 8500. i had no drive to connect.
