Here's a lil guide to prefetch.

***DISCLAIMER*** This involves editing the registry. If you are not comfortable with this, don't do it.

    1. Clean up your prefetch folder:
Goto to "C:\Windows\prefetch" and delete any entry which you don't use often, or if the program loads quickly. You can delete everything if you like, it will be updated again depending on the registry setting below.

The items removed, might load a little slower than usual the first time you run them, but this ok because your system performance will be better.

    2. opn regedit and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters

Look for: EnablePrefetcher. Modify the value according to the following...

These are the value's and what they do:
    0: Disable
1: Prefetch when an application runs
2: Prefetch on startup or bootup
    3: Always Prefetch

    Enjoy!
