I had a huge problem the first time I installed Windows Vista Ultimate. I couldn`t get the Wi-fi working. I installed the Atheros driver`s over and over, and after a while, I just tried to use the Windows Driver Installer (Which the Atheros installer says to cancel > . > ) to install it for me. I didn`t have a disc, so I clicked show more options. I clicked 'Choose Driver (advanced)', and pointed to the Atheros`s driver folder, into the 'Drivers' folder, and click search .

After a few seconds , Window`s said it was done installing , so I clicked Finished .

You have to restart your computer before wireless will work : )

    thanks ,

    Vapour,

I just installed Vista Ultimate onto my Aspire One, and seem to have the same problem as you described concerning WiLan. I Downloaded the Atheros Driver zip file, installed, but still no wlan yet. Wonder what I might be overlooking.

    Tnx/Joe

Hi guys i have been looking at this forum when ive been having the same problem myself with the wireless drivers after installing vista on my aspire one and i thought ill share with you on here what ive found out that will probably help a lot. (Mine is the white aspire one model ZG5 (AOA150) the linpus linux model.

Im sure many of the aspire ones will be the same pretty much. but how i found out about the driver is I also own a toshiba satellite laptop and I looked on the bottom of the sticker of that and that too uses the atheros wireless WLAN AR5BXB63 but the card shows as AR5007EG in windows. So i had a look on Toshiba's website and downloaded the Atheros Vista wireless driver and installed it on the aspire one and it works perfect. Here is a link to the driver.

    http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tools/updates/atheros-wlan/atheros-wlan-vista-7702880.zip

Vista driver for the atheros wireless card is at the above link. If the link breaks down look on Toshiba's site the laptop is.

    Family: Satellite
    Product Series: Satellite L Series
    Model No: L300
    Short Model No: PSLB8E

and go to drivers and there you have it.
