Someone please help some newer folks to this with the latest info. I have been pouring over this forum and other places for a couple hours, but most of the info is a year old or so. Here is what i would love to do:

I want to put OSX on my new Acer Aspire One D250 (-1389 if it matters). I would prefer to get snow leapord on it, and if not too hard to do 10.6.2 (i know it was supposed to break Atom support, but i have seen there are hacks around that now? Someone PLEASE help with a detailed step by step including which distro to use, exactly what drivers are needed for all hardware as well as where to download them, etc.

I have seen a lot of people saying that you either cant or it is very hard to get the built in wifi card working in OSX. IS that old info or is that still the case? I dont want to have to open it up to change the wifi card, but if that is the only option can someone tell me how to do that? (something with screenshots maybe?). I do have a 3rd port on the bottom of it that i dont recognize? is that maybe the "mini pci-e" port? I recognize the hard drive bay and the RAM bay, but there is a 3rd to the right of the RAM bay (as battery is facing away from you) and I dont know what its for. The user manual says it is just a cooling fan, but there are definitely pin connectors in there.

Would like everything to work if possible (wifi is most important---bluetooth---sleep---sound---etc----) dont care so much about ethernet as i dont know why netbooks really need ethernet ;)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!! Here is what I found so far on my specific hardware incase it helps:

Wifi- I have the Atheros AR5007EG wireless adapter
etherner---- Atheros AR8132 PCI-E fast ethernet controller

Bluetooth---all I can find out is that its broadcomm chipset, Windows shows the Device Instance ID as
    and the hardware ID as
    webcam is the "SuYin" one....
    device Instance ID USB\VID_064E&PID_D101\CN0316-M608-OV011-VA-R07.01.01
    hardware ID USB\Vid_064e&Pid_d101&Rev_0711

audio shows as realtek high def.

THANKS for any and all help!!!!

I was about to post the exact same thing. I too finding finding ways and step by step gudie to make this Mac Os works in D250. I also wish wifi, sound, sleep mode and webcam to work. :)

So far what I found was this thread. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=18111

However the wifi and webcams not working. I hope they are making drivers for it soon. :)

Thanks Menifestozz. I actually found that last night too- guess I should have updated my own thread.

However, can anyone still help? As far as I see those instructions for the D250 are only to get it to 10.5.8--i would love to get Snow Leapord 10.6 (at least ) running on it as SL runs a lot smoother/ takes less resources/ etc. Anyone successfully gotten SL running on a D250? I have found the below link in response and people state the A150 is pretty similar, but the hardware looks diff to me and it looks like you first have to go 10.5.8 then upgrade with some crazy EFI updater thing?

I was also trying to combine some knowledge that I had found on a Dell 10v (i know this doesnt apply but hear me out).
    http://gizmodo.com/5389166/how-to-hacki ... rd-netbook

This guide shows how to get 10.6 running pretty easily without a lot of extra hacking around using something called "netbook bootmaker", which from what I can tell is a google code project found here ( http://code.google.com/p/netbook-instal ... loads/list ). I was thinking if I could maybe at least get the SL installer running I could install the base OS on a drive, then i could get all the kexts and stuff like that from the D250 guides and load them in manually by hooking the drive up to another mac?

Does that make sense to anyone? I REALLY want Snow Leap on this netbook!!! Now part of me is wishing I went with the 10v as it looks easier, but I got a great deal on the D250. I found it on woot.com like 2 weeks ago for $230 (this had the 6 cell battery too, BIG +) and they let you do paypal. I had like $60 in my paypal, so it ended up costing me like $170 net!!! Can't beat that!!!

Anyways- I digress. Can any of you more advanced hackintosher/ command line guru's help us out ? :)

    Thanks guys!
