    Hi all.

First post and not surprisingly it's a request for help.

I have an Aspire One model 110 and in lifting the keyboard to upgrade the RAM, inadvertently pulled the "ESC" key off :(

It doesn't appear to be damaged and neither does the keyboard socket from whence it came but I cannot work out how to put it back on.

    Please can somebody advise me?

    Thanks.

    Rgds

It's probably supposed to "snap on" in some way. You'd have to look yourself. It's hard to do much more than that without actually being there in person. You're the best person for the job, gl.

So, what you're saying is, you haven't a clue either because you've never done it before. OK. Thanks

No, I'm saying you should be able to look and figure out yourself. It's not hidden from you.

I've done it before, but on a different laptop. It should be very similar, however.

What you need to do is lift the X-shaped thingy where the key attached, so that you can snap the key on. I did it using a little screwdriver. It's kinda tricky to do, and it's a thousand times harder to explain, heh.

Actually it was, else I would have fixed it myself :) However,

Thank you :) Now you've said that I can see that it forms a sort of cantilever setup. I hadn't seen that but now you've explained it I fixed the offending key in a couple of seconds :)

    Thanks again.

You're welcome. I'm glad my crappy explanation was enough to help you. :) Sorry, I wish I could've done a better job hehe.

On the contrary. It became clear from your description that it was a sort of cantilever mechanism. Once I knew that I was home and dry :D
