How to:Speakers off/Earphone on?

    I cant seam to be able to turn off the speakers when I plug in my earphones? Any suggestions?

    try different headphones? tried reinstalling audio drivers? try reinstalling audio software?
    could be a problem with the plug. made sure they are plugged in all the way?
    windows xp / 7 / vista ? linux ? hackintosh ?

    What kind of earphones are you using? If they have a mic, the plug shouldn't be pushed in all the way due to the plug's design. The earphone jack on the Acer's are not designed for mic/earphone plugs.
