How to turn off automatic screen brightness?

    Running XP SP3 with VGA driver 6.14.11.1007 from Acer web. The screen brightness got auto re-adjusted everytime after manual changed. Is there a way to disable this feature? Thanks in advance.

    There is a "Disable Persistant Brightness" .reg file in the folder with the drivers... doubleclick it.

    I have the same problem. When I'm on battery power I cant get to set brightness since it switches back by itself. I checked the Drivers directory on the App CD and I cant find that registry file you mention.

    Any other idea?
