How to unmute audio

    Linux starts to aggravate me..
    how can i enable the audio device, i get that icon with the disabled sign. i try to enable it, but with no luck.
    please help.

    edit: even when i use FN + F8 i still get the disabled icon in the middle of the screen, please help me out guys.

    Mute / unmute seems to work fine for me.

    Maybe you muted in Mplayer or VLC player or some other area. Try Volume Up and Down etc.
