    @ Tybor

I keep thanking you for your hard work and time... ;)

    Much appreciated THX buddy!

    Regards,
    Woodland

    just to let you know..
It all worked as "promised'. Quite an improvement that new Kpowersave!
I didn't have to reconfigure my power button still worked as before.

p.s for those with sound probs ...; there are no sound probs.
some of the pre configured sounds either do not exist or are to soft.
configure your own (existing, loud) sounds and it will work

Mine is playing sounds now to.
I loaded some WAV files on my AAO and now it seems to play them just fine.

How do I reset the power management back to the original program/settings?

There are to many things that are broke with kpowersave(0.7.3-3 and 0.7.3-2):
Shutdown - Won't work without the hack listed earlier
Lid closure - Does nothing no matter what it's set at, even when directly editing the configuration file
    Logout Dialog - Doesn't work
Suspend To Disk - Crashes when restaring

The original may have had very poor options, but at least what it did worked!

    Edit:
Even after a clean install Logout Dialog doesn't work and Suspend to Disk crashes when restarting. :(

After a clean install and following the instructions Suspend to Disk still refuses to work.
Increased size of swap partition to be double physical RAM after finding out the memory is dumped to the swap.
Still doesn't work, in fact it kills the swap partition whenever I tested it. I have to reformat it and re-enable it using gparted afterwards. :(

Has ANYONE EVER got Suspend To Disk to work properly? :?

Hi all. followed the update instuctions and all working well
    I then tried these instructions:-

and I have deleted the menu shortcut, I restored the old file and that didn't work. The taskbar icon is there and works but I was wondering if anyone knows how to restore the menu shortcut
    Thanks in advance

Really? Didn't work for me even with an SSD. Can you confirm that you have have suspend-to-DISK working and not just the out of the box suspend-to-RAM?

Most grateful for your reply, thanks.

    Hi,
I have a problem with the standard energy control software. Maybe you can tell me if this can be fixed with the updated Kpowersave:

I've disabled all energy saving functions if the AA1 is powered by cable to use it as overnight download client or as a musicbox. Therefore I don't need the monitor output. My first attempt was to use Fn+F6 to darken the monitor. As result, the computer went into the sleep mode after a while an I had to restore downloads or internet streams manually.

Second attempt was to use the black screensaver (pretty light by the way). Then I had the same result after approx. 20 min.

The ideal situation would be Fn+F6 pressed and the netbook running without a sleep or suspend mode.

    Thanks!

I followed these instructions worked fine, and I love the better warnings for battery states.

I found to get my AA1 to shutdown when lid is closed (which I prefer) setting power button_.shutdown in kpowersave options was ignored, but adding following two lines to end of /etc/acpi/events/power.conf seems to get lid close to shutdown

    event=button/lid.*
    action=/sbin/shutdown -h now

This does mean that the power button no longer works, - anyone worked out how to get lid closed AND power button to shutdown ?

Also my sleep (Fn f4) no longer works, but I never used this anyway so not a big deal.

    Hi,
I tried your changes to power.conf and they work great. No problems with the power button working for me.
My Fn F4 also doesn't work. I like the suspend to ram from the kpowersave menu. Is that the same as sleep? How do I find out what kpowersave is doing and then assign it to Fn F4?
