Hi. Please ignore the following lines, I might have made mistakes in running his scripts
so his advice is perfectly okay. only make sure that all commands are actually run in the terminal

    pls ignore:

Hi, please don't onpass the macles-advice. something is faulty there.

    cheers

If you follow the instructions 1:1 there is nothing faulty about it. The easiest way is to just paste all the lines, to avoid typos.

It has worked perfectly for me ;)
Though I admit Opera is growing on me on the One.

    Hi Macles,
    I apologize,
yes, it is working beautifully, but I had to try several times to make it work, because, for some reason, inside the terminal it wouldn't run all commands. but now it is fine.

by the way, can one uninstall firefox 2, now that 3 is running?

    thanks again and cheers

Not without breaking the Acer desktop. That is why the complicated procedure was necessary.

    thks, Grim Squeaker,
I do the search usually, bevfore I send out messages. however, I simply couldn't find the relevant questions

re Opera: unfortunately it still can't cope with certain formats.
    cheers

Having similar issues here: I installed Firefox 3 using macles' instructions to the letter, managed to start up FF3 after too, then I rebooted, and now I'm back to FF2.

    Any suggestions?
