Howto: Install wine, DirectX 9.0c,QuickTime,Games Ubuntu8.10

Hi all,

can i install games on linux without installing wine ?

 

There is no people with Ubuntu installed on their aceraspire one ? and also there are hundreds of howtos over wine , direct x with different way of installations. here we try to help Linux beginners to get used to Linux and to show them that is a complete system, and everything can be installed on it.

 

And who made you the judge of that? If this forum can be used to ease new converts into Linux then more power to it. If you want a forum that strictly polices content as being Ubuntu AND Aspire One related then make your own. Don't expect me to join it...

 

Yes, but this tutorial also works with an Aspire One running Ubuntu, thus making it relevant to our forum.
We also welcome general Linux discussion from our members. After all, this is Acer Aspire One user Forum.
