    When my D250 boots, it offers me a menu:

    Load Earlier version of Windows
    Windows 7
    Windows XP Setup

    I had an unsuccessful Windows XP setup, so this menu item is set as a default. Any ideas on how to remove all items si it will load Windows 7 without offering this menu?

    Appreciate any ideas.

    Hi there,

    Not sure if this will still work, as it's from Win98/2000 but should still stand true!!

    You need to edit the boot.ini file. Its a hidden system file on your C:\ drive, and you need to unhide it in order to see it.

    If you go to Windows Explorer >> Tools >> Folder Options >>View and then tick "Show hidden files and folders" and untick "Hide protected operating system files"

    Now, find c:\boot.ini

    right click it, and remove its read-only property if it has one.

    Now, open it in notepad (should just have to double click it.)

    First two lines read like this:

    [boot loader]
    timeout=30

    Change it to

    [boot loader]
    timeout=0

    Reboot, and you should see no menu at all.

    Let me know if this does still work!!

    Cheers
