Does anyone know where I can get a Linux driver for the C4480?

Ive tried the HLIP, but it doesnt work with the C4480.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

HPLIP is fine. I have version 2.7.7 and it drives my C4480 perfectly, including the scanner (xsane is installed automatically with hplip).

Installation is simple, just follow the prompts. When asked, specify distro fedora 8. I also disabled selinux by adding a kernel option (selinux=0) in grub.conf. The hplip installer asked to disable selinux... I just did it, I don't know if it's really necessary, I didn't try to run hplip with selinux on.

    Good luck.

Got it. For some reason I had to uninstall and reinstall HPLIP, then it worked.

    ta-daaa!

I have just installed the hplip with selinux on to print to a Photosmart C7280. The only reason I did this is that I didn't know how to turn it off....

No issues so far: printer was located on the LAN and a test page arrived quickly.
