    hi,

i'm new to linux, so please be patient with me. there are two software items which i would like to have on my one.

i would like a simple wysiwyg html editor like the one which came with the netscape suite some year ago (which i still use in windows).

and i would like a simple ftp-software to load up the pages i made with the first software.

if there is a reasonable software coming with the linpus distribution, please indicate where to find and how to load. thanks in advance. this forum seems to be really helpful for beginners.

it's me again. done for the ftp. as quoted in another string on this part of the forum there is gFTP already installed. tried out gFTP. works fine, very quick. you can save your ftp sites with or without password as bookmark. very basic, but easy to use. that's all i need.

also done for the moment for the html editor. there are the packages for seamonkey on the one already. the composer is coming with it. that will do so far. but if there are any suggestions for a better tool...

You might want to try nvu as a wysiwyg html editor..

Nvu is no longer developed, though it's been resurrected as "Kompozer". Haven't tried it myself, but the Red Hat/Fedora package on their download page should work fine with the One.

Course if you don't feel like installing Wine, Mousepad is a great native alternative and it's already in the system. :p

Do agree that Bluefish/Kompozer are great HTML editing suites. As for FTP applications, there are WAY too many to even list, and all of them work fine. ;)
