    Hi Guys

I have raised a post ‘Got my Huawei E1550 working’ detailing how I did it.
    See :- http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=20712

There is now a need to automate the configuration settings so that a connection can be set up by a simple click on a desktop icon.

I am only a Linux Novice. I was most pleased that I found a way to get the E1550 working.
It will need a better skill set than mine to achieve this automation of the configuration.

SO, your mission, should you choose to accept it is:-

‘Using the Sakis3G script, develop a single icon click method of launching and configuring the Huawei E1550 mobile broadband modem’

    Good Luck

    Hi Guys

Sakis has given me a way of implementing a single icon click method of launching and configuring the Huawei E1550 using his script.

I have tested it and debugged it, and it seems to be working fine.

It has taken me most of the day to sort it out, mainly due to my 'novice' skill set. The process was not helped by my AAO going into 'brick' mode. Thank heavens for the BIOS Recovery process on the Macles Blogspot.

I have now written up the process, and to keep all the information together, I have added it to my original post.
    See: http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=20712

SO, sorry guys, it looks as though the challenge is spent.
