I have a 100% functional AAO running Ubuntu. Here's how.

It's an issue with your build. Pretty much any kernel should support the touchpad and the kernel I built using the above .config certainly did.

Yeah, I found it kinda hard to believe that it wasn't. The weird thing is that I used the very same config (+ kernelcheck). No input drivers are compiled at all. Double checked that I did indeed use it just now, and it is spot on. Oh, well... I'll try re-building then I guess, as this seems to work for you.

"I used kernelcheck with this config to build my kernel. Makes life easy :) Or if you want to get your hands dirty go here, where you will find a nice step by step guide to building the latest kernel on Ubuntu"

Thanks for the guide. Could you be a bit more explicit with the KernelCheck bit to help out us kernel compiling noobs please? I can't work out how to apply the patch! It would be most appreciated :D

    Thanks for you help. :D

Using Hardran3's idea I have compiled debs in which the sound is completely working so there is not need to mess around compiling ALSA.

So with no image or script available, for someone who has no idea what compiling a kernel entails (sounds serious), is Kuki then still the best bet?

I read the article linked. What is the correct CPU Frequency Driver to use for the AAO?
