Problem 1) I remember the first day I got my netbook, when I changed the volume or brightness, there would be a little indicator at the bottom of the screen showing how much the volume/brightness is turned up. One day, it disappeared randomly.

Problem 2) Windows Photo Gallery is gone! I don't know how it got deleted, but it's gone and I couldn't figure out how to re-download it! I can only view pictures in a web browser now!

Problem 3) When ever I right-click on a picture, the "Set as Desktop" option is blank. It doesn't have any text but the button still works properly.

Problem 4) I can't figure out why my Alt Gr key wont work. It functions as a regular Alt key. I type special characters with it :(

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me solve any one of these problems!! Thanks in advance :D

I have problem number 1 too, but I downgraded to xp from vista. It worked for a little while, but then stopped.

Sounds way too random. If that happened to my system I'd reinstall windows.

Thanks! This will do for now, but do you know where I can download the regular Windows Photo Gallery, instead of the Windows Live one? Thanks in advance :D

I dont think you can, Windows Photo Gallery was just the older version name and the new version is now known as Windows Live Photo Gallery. Same program, just upgraded.

hey i got this from googling.. not tried it asi dont have that problem.. but hope this helps XD

The menu you get when you right click a image viewed in thumbnail,
Set as desktop background is in the registry (Start > run, type in regedit)
The information in there should be:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microso ft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache

    Value Name: @shell32.dll,-31289
Value Data: Set as desktop background

Edit: if its not there.. you may have to create one.
    select folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache
then goto Edit > New > String Value .. name it as @shell32.dll,-31289
double click the file to open it and in Value Data box, add Set as desktop background

    Hope this works
