I just want a simple PPTP VPN to a Windows Server (SOLVED)

    This has now been solved. See below.


    I'm sorry if this has been done to death, but I have been right through the forums and for the life of me I cannot see a simple way of connecting to a Windows server via a PPTP VPN connection using the AAO 110 and Linpus.

    I can see plenty of alternatives for OpenVPN and VPNC, but neither of those fit the bill.

    It surely can't be as difficult as this to get such a basic networking concept happening.

    I have installed PPTPConfig but that just errors.

    Any assistance here would be appreciated.

    In the end, all I had to do was to download the MPPE module as per this post

    viewtopic.php?f=37&t=3139&p=47840&hilit=mppe#p47840

    and then I installed the lataest version of Network Manager (0.07) rebooted the machine and bingo. The additional bonus was that the Mobile Broadband connection also worked with my USB Key for 3 Australia.
