    Hi mika,

Make sure you are connected to the internet.
Open up a terminal and type in following command:
    Code:
    ping -c 5 [url]www.google.com[/url]
    sudo yum install fedora-release
copy & paste the output into this thread.

    Hi mika,

It seems that your yum is broken.
Please try following in a terminal:
    Code:
    sudo yum --version
    sudo yum clean all
    sudo yum list yum
    Again display the output.

    Hi mika,

First we try to reinstall yum.
    Download the RPM from yum-3.2.7-1.fc8.noarch.rpm.
Open a terminal and go to the download folder and type:
    Code:
    sudo rpm -i --force yum-3.2.7-1.fc8.noarch.rpm
Show us the output, if successful try the same commands of my previous post.

    Hi mika,

Well, I suggest you restore your system with the Acer DVD.
Sorry, I don't know how to help you anymore.
