    Hello everyone,
This is my first post, but I've been lurking for the past few days on these forums.

I got the A1 (alas, it has an Intel SSD), and I must say that I'm a bit stumped by the Linux interface.

I've followed the instructions on how to install VLC (as posted here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=167 ), but even though the package was installed, I can't figure out where the application is...

I must say, although I follow technology, and I believe there should be free and better alternatives to M$ operating systems, I still think Linux is not ready for the masses. I know absolutely nothing about how to use it - I'm no programmer. And until there's a simpler way to add/remove programs to an operating system, and access them, it's a big hassle.

These being said, I'd like to install XP on my A1.

I have various XP versions which have served me well over the years... My favorite, though, must be Retestrak XP SP2 Final... I also have the Crystal XP, TinyXP, and Black XP.... :)

So, I figured i could use a guide to install XP on a fast SDHC, and use my A1 like this... I don't know about you, guys, but I like to use my Winamp, my VLC, my AcDsee and all the other programs that make computing fun and enjoyable.

I found this guide : http://www.eeeguides.com/2007/11/instal ... thumb.html , but it seems complicated and I'm not sure if it works for SDHC installation.. can anyone else post their experience and suggestions?

    Thanks!
