I think I may have screwed up something - cant mount drive

    I noticed this happened after I had been foling around with the user account.

    Basically I just changed the user@localhost to myownname@locahost.

    Now it seems I cannot mount external hard drives or USB drives. Always get the failed to mount message.

    error message : Cannot read from /media/.hal-mtab.

    this was the command I used to change the user name:

    usermod -l login-name old-name

    Hi guys, I solved this by removing the /media/ folder and creating a NEW empty one.

    USB works now!
