    Hi there!

I have a 8.9" AAO with the 120GB HDD in it. I am looking at buying the solderless kit and having a local techy friend install it for me (i'm a software gal, not hardware)...

I'm a little unclear on the space differences between SSD & HHD versions - is there room in the AAO w/ HDD option to do the touchscreen kit and an interal USB adapter?

Thanks for any guidance you can share!

You mentioned that your wife browses through the POI's quickly. Could I also ask what GPS software you're using on the AAO? I've been looking at a few but not quite sure which way to go yet. Thanks again!

I just ordered a solderless TS from ebay and have a few questions...

From the picture on ebay they don't seem to include the "USB Harness"? Where can I buy these "USB Harness"?

In another ebay listing the seller included a piece of copper foil tape "In order to aviod any overheat problems on P.C., it is recommended by our Engineering Dept.". Does anyone had any overheating problems?

Seems like a lot of people have problem with the bezel. I have not received mine yet but I am worried... Is it possible to use sand paper to make the bezel thinner to fit the touchscreen better?

    Thanks...

Well, I sanded my bezel. Not to try and make it a lot thinner but to remove plastic tabs.

I would hope any wires you need would be included in the kit you buy? What kit did you buy?

I just ordered two kits from toptouchscreen, that would be bad news.

Can they sell you (me) the cables?

EDIT - I emailed toptouchscreen and they said all cables are included.

I received the package from toptouchscreen and the "USB harness" cables are not included.
All cables shown in the pictures of the auction are included though.

toptouchscreen said the Acer USB port is 3.3V and it cannot "provide enough power", so that "using the extra usb port is meaningless"? Anyone tried? Isn't it the solderless kit from fidohub does have extra usb harness?

Tell them to send you the cables because you are wiring the hub to the spare USB port on the motherboard (CN11) which has 5v unlike the camera USB port which is 3.3v.

I have two kits coming, and they have been replying within a few hours to all (3) of my emails.

Try sending the question by the "Ask a question" link in one of their current auctions.

Hey ppl, I too bought a screen from toptouchscreen, and no USB harness. I managed to get in touch with a user on http://mydellmini.com forums who has a bunch of them. He's selling them for $4 a piece + shipping. I bought a couple of them but will be disappointed if they don't work on this board. Is that true??? Anybody confirm or deny? I was looking at adding a USB bluetooth receiver internally.

    Any thoughts on this guys?
