iATKOS v4i install and issues

Now I know iAtkos can go up to 10.5.5 I might well do it.
I think I'lll do it now actually.

zakfontaine make sure you run the script on terminal before the update, while you are on super user

type this on terminal

sudo root
(and type your root password)

if you dont have a root username and password, go to utilities and run directory utilities and create that account

The kernel we used on this tutorial and my update tutorial is for kernel 9.2.0 speedstep, not ToH, you cand find it on iatkos 4.i under Drivers, Intel, Speedstep, you should not combine it with other kernels, just select that one

 

iAtkos v5i released, look at your favorite download site...

Downloading v5i now. Is it safe to assume that the 10.5.5 kexts posted on page 37 will work for a fresh install as well?

yes, right, but maybe dont need it until one of us install it and confirm what does work, and what doesnt, then some kexts of page 37 will apply....

 

and maybe sleep will work???

Video with external monitor (except mirroring)

Audio out with autoswitching from mini plug or internal speakers
Audio in from internal mic, (never tested from the miniplug in)

WIFI - Change the default Atheros minipci for a DW1390, just $20 USD shipped worldwide
Full ISO Keyboard working

The missing stuff:
Sleep feature, you are not missing that much, in fact I never use that feature
Flash card reader, maybe will never work due a lack of JMICRON support. Fixable if you plug directly your camera via USB or a USB card reader,

Conclusion we have a almost fully working cheap OSX lappy

 

cant imagine it would be any different than my v4 install that has been updated to 10.5.5?

BLUE SCREEN HELP NEEDED

Hi All

Can u help me? I have installed vista and osx (iatkos) dual boot on my aspire one. All was working fine untill i installed Pauls 5 kexts, i now have the blue screen and the black pointer. Can any body help or point me in the right direction. Im a bit green when it comes to kexts.

I have installed v5i and have all working but sound/mic.

Installed all the kexts found on page 37 but system.kext, clamshell.kext,and SMBIOS.kext. When I installed these, I got a kernel panic... but not sure which caused it.

As I said, no sound or microphone... anyone know what I can do?

 

Also no sleep or shutdown... and restart isn't working 100%... it shuts it down but doesn't load it back up... but the fans and lights are still on.

What happened to your installation is kernel mismatch, cause you installed the System.kext

For audio fix just install AppleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler.kext

I will install iAtkos v5i today, I will try to post a tutorial for it

 

Installed iATKOS v5 succesfully, sleep feature seem to shutdown hard drive and DONT hangup the system, shutdown and restarts have not issues so far, the new PC_EFI v9 points that we can load custom EXT (look in here http://netkas.org/?p=74 ) on /Extra/Estensions I put some kexts there and restarted with -f flag and seems to not work, does anyone knows how to use new kext ?

 

so sleep shuts it down properly, but still cant wake up?

It shutdowns hard drive but not screen, maybe because I have not installed drivers for it, but it succesfully recovery from sleep, no hangs as iAtkos v4
