iDeneb v1.4 10.5.6 Install guide

Anyone tried the new version iDeneb v1.5 10.5.7?

 

not yet. I installed ideneb v1.4 and then experimented by trying iatkos v7. Out of the two - I like iatkos. just my personal preference. I have my A150 set up with iatkos and win XP pro in a dual boot setup. I like the Chameleon bootloader.

 

I have installed ideneb v1.5 10.5.7 but i can't get it to work..

it installs wonderfull but when i boot and have to fill in the setup, my keyboard and tappad aren't working :?

There is also a cracking noise from the speakers..

(installed on Aspire one A150, with options: ideneb essential system and acer aspire one (under netbooks)

Hope someone could help me to get this work.. because it is very weird that the standard settings (acer aspire one ,, as described above) will not work :?

EDIT: i now know that the cracking sound is the keyboard which keeps typing "7" and the other keys doesn't work.. but with an external mouse and keyboard it works (except for the fact that it keeps typing "7".. as you can imagine this way i can't complete my setup..

Please what can i do?

 

the same for me! i thought my keyboard has died! but luckily im not the only one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i went pass the installer and got it running in ZG5, but no wifi (should i install atheros drivers????) and of course, really crazy keyboard........

also i got some errors when booting..... i got it to boot osx 1 out of 3 times.... most of the times with the -x prefix in chamaleon....

any experienced user who knows what drivers install?????

 

most switch out their wireless card to get wireless to work. AFAIK there aren't any drivers that work 100% with the atheros wireless card. I switched to a broadcom BCM94321MC wireless card and it works great with OSX.

 

Don't use v1.5, get v1.5.1 instead.

 

installed 1.5.1.... the results where not that satisfactory.....
the same with the keyboard and the touchpanel.... it works randomly...

any ideas?

Hi everybody,

i installed ideneb 1.5. on my 150 with 160 gb hd.
Here are my observations:
- it installs flawless with "essential system" and "Acer one" options selected.
- after reboot i started with -x and managed to create my account etc.
- after that i can hardly start the os. I either get a kernel panic oder cannot use the mousepad. The keyboard produces (random) characters when asked to
give password.

Conclusion: Cannot be used on Acer One. at least not on my 150...

After that i installed the 1.4, also without any problems. I can start the system etc. But sometimes ist takes long time
to start, even without any sd card in the slot.
But the i tried software upgrade "as real mac"....
It downloads and installes all the files but is continuously restarting after the bootscreen.
Any hints on that ?
What about the 1.5.1 ? In a previous message someone found the same problems than under 1.5.
Where can we find the torrent for 1.5.1 ? Demonoid is not accepting any new registrations.

I just have one more question: I have choosen the German keyboard layout and am missing the @ which i can usually get by pressing ALTGR and Q.
Any idea how to solve this or where the @ is now ? Otherwise i cant write any email

 

I'm not sure, as I use the US style keyboard. Have you found out where it is located at, or is it still a problem?

 

You have to press <Windows> + <L> to get the @.
I am very happy now with the ideneb 1.4 although i cannot use the automatic software upgrade...
Cant wait to test wifi. My dw1390 is on its way.....

BTW: I installed skype but mic audio is way to low. Cant find where to increase loudness. Any hints ?

 

For me it does not work!

I used the PPF-Patch to get 1.5.1, installed the System, reboot prompting -x, and no Trackpad and no Keyboard instead of 7!

Right now I'm in the Mood for installing iDeneb 1.4 one more time, without using any upgrade!

But there seems to be one Problem using 1.4 and any MobileMe Account. Without upgrading your MobileMe, you can't sync your iCal entries...

EDIT: Okay, fixed the Upgrade to 1o.5.7.
Just installed 1o.5.6 (iDeneb 1.4) once again, installed the iDeneb Combo Update, next reboot with cpus=1 so you'll get to Desktop!
But Graphic-Mode is only 8oox6oo, so I followed the Hints on Hackinst0sh.org: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f181/73722.htm

After following those Hints, I installed the ANV-Kernel from the Tools in the Combo-Update dmg....

Everything is fine now!

 

Just a quick question, I have both XP & OSX installed, is there any way to get the Chameleon boot loader to default to XP rather than OSX? or give a longer delay to press a button than five seconds.

Just that I use XP much more at moment, only use OSX for iphone developing.

It downloads and installes all the files but is continuously restarting after the bootscreen.

Any hints as to where to go now?
I keep trying all the -v and -x at that startup, but it seems it just wants to keep trying to boot in a loop.
Any advice?
