    Hi everyone!

Ok so obviously, the Intel® Embedded Graphics (beta) Drivers (available at: http://edc.intel.com/Software/Downloads/IEGD/#overview) offer great promises (ie. make the GMA500 suck less), but it's quite a pain to configure & generate drivers.

Could someone be kind enough to post their config for: dtd/configuration/package ?

    Thanks in advance!

Hey Felix, thanks for your reply!

Yep I tried this driver (indeed, it seems to work properly. I didn't notice any artifact(s)), but I'm a little concerned about the settings used to generate it. That was made specifically for the Vaio P.
I would think that using appropriate settings would make the brightness levels work for instance (using IEGDGUI.exe - located in the "Utilities" folder of the generated drivers). Not sure how "safe" it is to use drivers made for other hardware..

I wonder if this driver will be available publicly soon, and replace the existing GMA 500 drivers, or if it's gonna be only for manufacturers/developers..

    Cheers,
    Max

More and more advanced drivers are on the way. In about 2 weeks Intel will reveal their new Atom 2.0 platform (PineView) which will have the GMA500 integrated into all new Atom CPUs. I think Intel will show some impressive stuff at this show.

Thanks again Felix for your reply!
I really wish the new this new platform using a GMA500 chip will mean new and improved drivers for GMA500 (and linux drivers too?).

I'm considering selling my Aspire One 751h and get the Acer Aspire 1410 instead (better processor and non-GMA500 graphic card), as the GMA500 shitty drivers are really bugging me. Anybody has an advice on that? Better wait for new GMA500 drivers?
I like my little 751h with its 8 hours of battery life, but really wished it had proper drivers (and good enough drivers on Linux too).

And again, if anyone has working IEGD 10.1 config, please reply back!

    Cheers,
    Max

I´d wait and see what intel brings up on their Developer Conference 22. Sep. I have no real clue about Linux, but i heard things are making progress: http://gadgetmix.com/index/official-lin ... o-chipset/

The 1410/1810 Timeline is a great machine, but mostly due it´s faster CPU. Though decision, but i´ll keep my 751 for the basic tasks and mobility.

    Thanks for the wise advice!
Better wait to see what happens (the IEGD drivers are marked as "gold", I'm hoping Intel will release end-customer-friendly versions soon).

Might try again to generate IEGD drivers tonight, and see if Age of Empires 2 works; as well as re-installing Ubuntu to test those new linux drivers.

    Cheers,
