iMovie error

after i installed ilife, and when i launch imovie, it says "imovie isnt compatible with this version of mac osx". any help?

 

What versions of iLife and iMovie are we talking about?

(This has nothing to do with your Acer Aspire One, though.)

 

I have ilife and imovie 08 and it does have something to do with the One b/c i have 10.5 mac on the One and i thought it was like a hardware error or something. can iMovie run on One?

 

do the rest of your iLife programs work?

if so maybe there was an error during the installation and you could try re-installing it?

i doubt it but maybe it has something to do with the resolution. again i doubt it but if everything else works and you repaired the installation then maybe you might want to try the CS3 installation trick located here?

thanks for the input. all the other ilife programs work great. I tried reinstalling ilife after i tried to do the muli-touch trick. i didnt fix anything.

 

I've got iATKOS v4 10.5.4 running on my One and iLife 08 and iMovie launched fine. Which version of OSX have you installed?

 

10.5.4 using iatkos.

 

Make sure that QE is working. That causes a lot of trouble for iMovie etc.

 

Not to sound stupid (as i frequently do lol) but what is QE?

 

Quartz Extreme/Core Image. Graphics acceleration (in a nutshell). If your menu bar is transparent, you have it enabled (you can also check in System Profiler, "Graphics" tab).
