OK, so no price match, but have you enjoyed using the One, were you happy when you bought it, is it still working?

I guess the answer is yes in all cases, be happy and get over it, if not you are doomed to suffer whenever you buy a product (prices always fall) .
Why not just enjoy it for what it is, One = cool tech

I am very happy you are not losing sleep, now I properly understand the issues you have, how about this as a workaround - why not brew your own beer for about six months. Multiple benefits in this: The beer would cost less, and with the money you save you can buy a later version of the One with 1.5Gig of ram, 3g networking and a bigger SSD. And donate your current One to charity.

Jack - relax, if it makes you feel any better they liekly wouldn't have honoured it - i'm suprised so many people are reporting that they have, as none of my locals would - they don't have to honour stuff if it's not in stock, and the Aspire One is only available at PC World atm in the UK to the ebst of my knowledge.

On a related note, i went back and took out the rolling warranty - £2.99/month for cover against everything bar theft/loss is superb - Dom & Gen wanted £16/m,onth! :shock:

i went to pc world to have a gander at the 'one', but all they had was an advent 4211...

gutted.

They tried to sell me the rolling cover as well. They lost interest a bit after I pointed otu that the first thing I intended to do was take it to bits

Might pop past the PC World up in cribs on my way home tonight, it's probably easier than waiting a week...

 

Just realised I compleatly forgot to ask for a price match, doh!

 

PC World stock levels are hit and miss - Chichester had one on show, but no stock. Portsmouth had none on show, but 5 in stock! I got one in Portsmouth, price matched at £219.99.

The One is not currently (as of Sunday 3rd Aug) on the PC World main Web site, but can be found on the in-house stock system (Eclipse). Finding staff that actually know about the Acer One can be fun too - the guys at Chichester knew about it, but I had to 'help out' my salesman at Portsmouth - who then rang Chichester for a stock code!

 

I think we confirmed the stock code earlier in this thread.

 

in the search on Currys type in acer aspire one and you will get the stock code.

btw does anyone know if the pcworld currys group are getting the hard drive models in store ?

Swindon doesn't have one, the guy knew his stuff about netbooks but i taught him about potential 3G and wimax for the american market. He said he noticed one on the website, before it got taken off of course.

ARGH i really would like to get my mitts on one before i commit to buying!
