Infrared Control

Hey, IM on the hunt to try and mod a built in Infrared Reciever for the "Aspire One" so we can control it by A remote control to change music/songs in winamp/foobar/wmp.
I know that, USB - IRDA recievers can be found but most are to transfer files/mobile phones, so do not allow Infrared Remotes to be used, i once modded an old pc with a Infrared Reciever from an old VCR to the motherboard, The driver was a "generic infra red com port" then used the program Winlirc with winamp, it was cool.

I want to build a Reciever into the aspire for Remote controll Music/Tv ect, and have a remote on my keyring to change track's!
Any ideas here ?

IM about to upgrade my acer 160gb --> 500gb Hdd , My music listening requires it, should be fun lol

 

Well, if it's running off USB, you could just do it like how tnkgrl did the Bluetooth mod.
