InsomniaX os x on sleep

    Can you elaborate? Or do you mean you can use InsomniaX to PREVENT your AAO from going to sleep?

    apparently it was designed to stop hibernation on actual mac's, but it also says it ENABLES hibernation? maybe it'll work? i'm going to give it a shot

    yeah, I think he got something mixed up there.
    i have been using insomniax for a couple of days to prevent sleep when closing the lid. that's all it can do, sleep still doesnt work.

    after i installed insomniax my computer wont shut down. i get the big black sqare that says please hold down the power button and restart your computer. any reason as to why i get this? thanks

    It's many more easy to prevent sleep when closing display.
    You may just to delete /system/library/extensions/calmshell.kext or /system/library/extensions/calmshelldisplay.kext i don't remembre that name.
    Then delete /system/library/extensions.mkext repair permission and reboot..
    Now when you close the display his light shut down but the pc doesn't hybernate.
    Is not necessary to use a software to prevent the sleep on displey closing.
