instalation of a 3 usb broadband dongle

Hi, I have searched through this forum and can't find an idiots guilde which tells me how to install a 3 g usb dongle from 3. When I plug it in my linpus lite recognises the files but does nothing to install them. I am a total novice so please be kind !!! many thanks in advance

 

HI, I am no expert either but I have got an O2 dongle working and this is how it worked.

Update the machine through live update
Check you have a new program called Mobile partner
Run mobile partner, insert the dongle
You will need to create a new "account" called what ever you want, the setting for a 3 payg dongle is the following (I think)
apn: three.co.uk
access number: *99***1#
user name: guest
password: guest

My O2 settings however were simply Access number: *99#

It took another few steps for me to get it to work, this was simple when you knew what to do, when you open firefox, go to File and untick the "work offline" option.

Everything worked fine after that
