i have got a Acer Aspire one Linux version(8G SSG), i found that the preinstalled Linpus is very "closed", and i don't really know how to use except using the preinstalled apps. i heard that Linpus comes from Fedora, is it possible for me to install a Fedora on it? if no, is there other linux distribution that is fully functional(no need to worry driver problems)?

Linpus is fedora based, so there's not much point in installing a full version of fedora. Linpus Lite is tailored to the needs of the AAO, which no other linux is. Just unlock advanced mode and you'll be fine.

    Thats very important to remember

Unfortunately no. The very fact that Aspire have tailored the software means package conflict. I've tried several yum installs that fail in this regard.

Try the Fedora 8 LiveCD from a usb stick, it works pretty well, although you need to compile a custom madwifi driver to get wifi to work, the instructions are identical to the ones for the eeepc, I created a script to do this:
    http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forum/sho ... p?t=185536

For LiveCD to USB instructions see:
    http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraLiveCD/USBHowTo

Get Fedora * LiveCD iso image from a torrent here:
    http://torrent.fedoraproject.org/

or direct download from a mirror site here:
    http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/publiclist/Fedora/8/

If you like the LiveCD you can do a permanent install to hard disk just by clicking the Install icon on the desktop. You needn't overwrite the Linpus OS, Fedora 8 LiveCD has Gparted which allows you to resize the Linpus partition and make room for a dual boot.

If as suggested, you "unlock" the "advanced mode," you will find a way to add tons of useful stuff that WILL run with this version of Linpus.

There are instructions as to how to do this all over this forum.

    Try viewtopic.php?f=13&t=28 for instance.

    Then after following the instructions,
    right-click: System>Add/Remove Software
and start searching for specific software or
for general classes, such as "solitaire"

If you run fedora 8 from a LiveCD USB stick the fonts are too big, make them normal size by opening System -> Preferences -> Look and Feel -> Appearance.

Click the 'Fonts' tab and click the 'Details' button in the bottom right, then change the Resolution to 96 dots per inch.
