    Hello Oneusers

First of all: Sorry for my englishskills ;)

I recently bought this fantastic machine, 8gb SSD variant and I am very pleased with it. I have ordered extra RAM, a bigger battery and some other minor extras. One of my main purposes with this machine, is to turn it into a hackintosh. I bought the Linpus-edition simply because it is cheaper than the One with XP - And when I had planned to delete the OS anyway, well, then it really didn't matter.

    My two questions:

How can I wipe the harddisk from Linpus and everything else on it completely?
    And..
Is it possible to install OS X from a SD-memorycard, and if so, how is this done (Please be precise, I am not that much of an expert ;) )

EDIT: So far I can understand, it should be possible to install Kalyway (Or any other OS X-installer) with a bootable USB-stick - But I can't find ANY good guide out there, that describes what to do, if you don't have access to a running Mac, which I don't? PLEASE help me. I would really hate to buy a 50GBP external DVD-drive just for this purpose?

    :)

    Regards

    Mathias

That's too bad. Is there any other way to install an OS besides by an external dvd-reader?

    Well, I don't have a mac, unfortunately ;)

Could you maybe post a link to a guide on how to install leopard on a PC via USB-stick? If so, I would be very pleased :)

Thank you for your help, it is very appreciated :)

.. Maybe someone could help me about deleting Linpus too?

    Regards
    Mathias

Re: Install OS X from SD-card, and deleting Linpus completely?

    Thanks!
'However, I have some problems finding an appropriate guide for this purpose. I hit all to many sites where the guide is targeted at Mac users, which I'm not. Will anyone please link to a good guide on how to install Kalyway (iDeneb/iAtkos) from an USB-stick, without having access to a Mac? Any help will be very appreciated :)

One more question: I am going to upgrade my ram tomorrow. I have realized, that this is done by opening the laptop completely. I just took a look at the back of my One, and there is an opening covered by a small "Plate??" attached with two screws. What is this for?

    Regards

    Mathias

Sadly, on the current models, that door is for absolutely nothing. It's where the 3g module would go, assuming we had one. They neglected to put a door over the friggin ram slot though

the ram is in a great place, however the engineers forgot to put a door on the bottom side of the case to get to it easily.
