This is the way I did it.. This was all done from within win vista which was installed on my C: of my Aspire One, installing windows 7 on a new D: and having my E: keptwith all my docs etc on safely.
Works within XP or Vista to install Vista from USB too (its a method I got from viewtopic.php?f=38&t=4404)

Reboot your aspire with the memory stick plugged in, press F12 and select to boot to your stick. Make sure in the bios setup (F2) that your memory stick is not set to be the 1st bootable drive else it will complete the 11st section of the install, reboot and then start the 1st part of the installation over and over. The only drivers I needed to install was the WLAN drivers from http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/no ... e_150.html

I think thats everythgn I did.. was a few days ago now. ANy questions just ask. I think the problem with being able to boot to the stick but not install windows from it may be a really common one so I might take the time to post the solution one day. As I said, this method works to get windows Vista to install from USB too.
