Has anyone attempted or managed to install XP on an SD Card? Since the 8 GB model's internal SDD is so slow, I'm hoping it's possible to run windows from the card reader and simply use the internal drive as storage.

I'm thinking this is possible, since people have managed to run windows from SD cards on the EEE.

If this has worked for you, could you give your impressions about performance relative to the internal SDD? Also, maybe a brief overview on how you installed it?

    Thanks alot!

(I'm sorry if this has been asked before... I searched around the forums but couldn't find a related topic.)

I hope you get an answer!

I've not purchased the AA1 yet, but when I do I want to do similar either with XP or Linux... within our family we all tend to use the same laptop... ideally I'd like everyone to have there own personal SD card which they can slot in and boot. that way they get there own personal machine which they can customise add libraries too etc etc without the hardware expense... and... my theory is when we can afford it they can buy there own AA1's and move straight to it.

I did think about Virtual Machines and stuff but I guess that will slow down the boot time
