    Won't boot?
Try going into Linpus and seeing if it's detected.
If not, try it on another computer.
Mine boots fine from DVD, and I should know, I was trying to boot from different discs, and using different boot tools on discs for 3 hours today.

Yep, I bought one for £40 with my One, got home, played with Linpus, got my XP recovery Dvd out, plugged in the drive, found the exe wouldn't run in linux, restarted and it booted from the dvd and installed fine. Any External USB DVD drive should work fine.
