    I have a AOA150-1777. It came with XP Home on it. I recently installed WIN7 on it. To see how it would run etc. I did not delete the factory image. How would I revert back to Windows XP? When I go to disk management in WIN7. I cannot mark the partition as active. It shows up blank.

    The Acer Aspire One XP installation has a "Special Master Boot Record (MBR)" which allows you to reinstall XP from the D2D bios menu.

    But Windows 7 writes over this master boot record. So you have to reinstall the "D2D Master Boot Record", there is a thread on this forum where I linked to the needed files.

    I simply image the hard drive with Acronis before any changes, so I have never needed to perform this D2D recovery method.

    So your options are;
    1) Repair the D2D MBR.
    2) Reinstall from the recovery CD's
    3) Use Acronis and write a copy of MBR from another AOA 110 / 150 XP installation, then use the D2D Bios menu for recovery.

    Acronis True Image.

    I wonder if Windows 7 would have corrupted the OEM partition with it's Windows 7 reserve partition. If so you might copy both the MBR and recovery partitions from another aspire one.
