I am trying to install Intervideo WinDVD player onto my Acer aspire lone netbook from a network CD drive. The install program keeps complaining that I'm not using the original install CD. Is there something I can do aside from purchasing a USB dvd drive? I've tried installing onto my desktop with an internal CD drive and it works fine. Am I missing something?

Try copying all of the files and folders off the cd across the network to a folder on your mini. Then run the setup from that folder (usually setup.exe) as it will not auto launch.

    tried it, same message.

Also tried copying it using the dos xcopy comment in a bat routine. Kept looping around with an "access denied" message. I suspect there is something hidden on the root directory of the CD. Are there any programs that can "image" the CD?
