installing apps.

    I am a completely new user to Linux and Acer Aspire. ;)

    I have looked on the internet and found that Gimp is a suitable photo editor and downloaded the tar and unzipped it into a folder.

    Where do I go from here to install it. Sorry but I need step by step instructions.

    Can anyone help or point me to a site that explains it in simple terms?
