installing AVG antivirus software

    Hi, I have downloaded avg85flx-r287-a2632-i386.sh into my downloads file but when I double click on the icon it asks if I want to install the update patch and gives me the option to cancel or "ok". When I click on OK a window comes up stating "The patch file does not available".

    Does anyone know how I can get this avg installed or have any other free antivirus software that will work. I am operating on Linux. Many thanks, :D

    I know it is unrelated to your question, but you understand that Linux is not Windows and antivirus is generally not needed on Linux.

    But if you're transferring files from your A1 to another machine using a Microsoft OS its safer to scan them on the A1...
