Installing Brother DCP-130C Printer Linux

I'm also using the DCP-130C but cannot get it to work. I added the printer with linux config menu with the following details:

Location: localhost
Device URI: usb://Brother/DCP-130C
Make and Model: Brother DCP-1200 Foomatic/hl1250 (recommended)
printer status: idle

I've tried to print test page and several other pages but it doesn't print although it shows it's recieving data on the printer itself?? Can anyone help?

just update cups and use the drivers provided by brother which you can download on there website then everything works fine.

 

Can I join in please?

I am also having problems printing to a networked printer using CUPS. I can't update cups.

[user@localhost ~]$ sudo yum -y upgrade cups


Gives these errors after a whole lot of information:-

I need to enable JetDirect functionality in CUPS so that I can direct my AA1 to the sockets my printers are using on my network. I gather that I can only get this if I update CUPS, but these dependency and conflict problems are preventing me from doing so.

Please help.
