I've currently got the 120GB HD version with 1GB of RAM and Linux Linpus in my newly aquired A150L
I've tried but i just can't get on with Linux having been a Windows man for about 10 years so i'm looking to install XP pro on the machine.
I have access to a Sony USB CD / DVD drive from work and a genuine XP disk.

Is it just a case of booting from the USB DVD drive and installing Windows as normal? I've picked up the XP drivers from the Acer site but an unsure what the "CCD_liteone" and "CCD_SUNYIN" drivers are for. I'm guessing the camera but which one should i use (or both?)

Are there any "Known Issues" with this device and Windows XP? I notice some people mentioning issues getting WIFI to work which concerns me a bit...

Lastely, if i decide to put Linux on at any date in the future is it just a case of booting from the recovery CD (again, with the external Sony drive) and going through an install process

Sorry if these questions have been asked before, i've had a look through several sections of the forum and it's actually confusing me more as people are talking about "Windows Lite" and booting from USB's. Surely if you can boot from a USB pen you can boot from a USB CD drive?

Any help and advice greatly appreciated, love the device so far but Linpus is a bit restrictive for me

Sure is, press F12 on startup and select your USB CD/DVD drive and away you go. As for the webcam drivers, I integrated both into my nlite install so I'm not sure which one it used but it says "Acer CrystleCam" or something.

Everything works for me with the 8GB SSD, wifi is working great with the official asus drivers (although i had some connecting issues with SP2 and WPA2, SP3 solved that)

Pretty much, or you can make a recovery USB stick

I installed WinXP on mine. I had Linux version originally. Because I do not have an access to USB CD/DVD I had to use USB pendrive, but it's working perfectly :) Ans YES - installation is exactly the same like for normal desktop... People recommending only using WinXP with Service Pack 3 - it's avoiding couple of missing components apparently...

The camera on my AAO [8gb Linpus version] did not work with CCD_liteone (hardware not found) but did work with CCD_SUNYIN.

I tried to keep the original Linpus but squeeze the XP onto the remaining free SSD space. Linpus took up about 3.5gb. The swap partition took up about 1gb. So that left 3.5gb for the XP. I do not have a new SP3 CD so I had to update through SP2 and SP3. The installations soon ran into a lack of disk space problem. After repartitioning the disk, keeping the swap boot, I succeeded in installing and updating to SP3 and installed the AAO drivers. Then, I removed the useless $...undelete files to free up space. The resulting XP configuration required about 5.5gb, including approximately 0.75gb for pagefile. I've decided to leave off Linpus from the SSD but to run it from an USB stick as described in this forum.

    HI there!
for my AAO with xp pro sp3, it only uses 3.5Gb. 5.5 is still large compare to that. try installing xp sp3 with a cd and not upgrade... :D
