Anyone else install XP 2008 with SP3, and experience the slowest install process ever?

It's been installing over 2 hours thus-far, and still says it has 15 min left - it started, TWO HOURS AGO, at 39 min. Anyone else have this issue? Is this indicative of the performance I can expect with XP 2008, SP3?

just wondering... I think my wife will be able to draft and FILE divorce papers before the install is complete, due to lack of sleep.....

    OMG!

The performance is horrible..... what the he%^ do I do with this thing?

I need a reasonable operating system, and fast! This is horrible - how can Win XP be THIS bad on this buggar? I think it runs faster on my calculator watch...

WOW! a 15 minute boot-up: Acer, you have outdone yourself!

This is awful - what the heck do we do with this thing?

Verify that your HD isn't running in PIO mode. It should be in ULTRA DMA mode 5.

I don't have a HD - this is off the SSD - the next great technology!

I'm going back to my Comodor 64 - it runs better than this - this is insane. My 286 with windows 3.0 was 1000% better than this. What is going on?

I formated NTFS - is that the reason the performance is so awful? Is it really a big difference NTFS vs FAT32? If so, why is that?

    Thanks.

irrespective, the SSD on the AA1 is real slow; slower than those on other netbooks that run XP.

Either upgrade to the HHD version (like I did) or you can try a few tricks that have been posted on these forums.

There's running EWF/FBWF or RAID. Try those
