So i planned to install tiny xp rev 9 from a pen drive but hit a wall following the guide posted on here. So it seems I need a different guide or someones help?

I don't want to have to order an external drive just to install tiny xp.

Was this using tiny xp rev9?

I get "The path xxx does not contain Windows XP Source Files." when locating the disc with the tiny xp on.

I dunno why but I couldn't even get TinyXP rev9 to install from an external dvd drive.

It keeps stalling when I see the splash screen.

I setup a BARTPE USB flash drive that I boot from. When I run the Windows setup after I enter the XP key, it says there is no drive large enough to install XP on. In other words, Windows does not see the internal SSD. What am I doing wrong?

I tried Tiny XP rev 9 just to save the trouble of the NLite process, but it's getting replaced with my legal copy of XP home from my old PC this weekend. It just doesn't work right - at least not for me. It was supposed to install WiMP, IE7 (needed only for Windows Update), etc, but didn't install any of it. It also cut out "unnecessary" stuff like the volume control and all the options for customizing the start menu.

Thanks but no thanks. I'd rather spend more flash space on a bit more functionality.

BTW - I have the model with the slower Flash drive, but XP still runs OK (with the usual tweaks - 1.5G RAM upgrade, virtual memory turned off, indexing off, etc). I suspect people complaining about occasional lags have a driver problem or something that's being reported with an event log entry over and over.
