I did not manage to integrate my googlemail account into aspire one mail. I am absolutely new using unix but I already love that small machine. Can anyone provide some step by step instructions how to solve the mentioned "problem". Same applies to me for my office account which is a webmail access to microsoft office outlook. Too much IP nos and... Thanks Rolf

Can't speak for microsoft, but the gmail account setup was as easy as it gets when I set up mine. I simply supplied my gmail email address and it configured itself without the need for me to do anything else. So I can't understand why you're experiencing problems?

In any case, here's a synopsis of what a gmail account would contain in its Properties:

Under User information: Your gmail Email Address and whatever name you want to use
    Under Servers:

    Incoming mail (IMAP): imap.gmail.com
    Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
Email username: just your gmail username without @gmail.com
    Password: you should know that
Outgoing mail server: The server requires authentication is checked
Settings button: radio button ... Use the same settings as the incoming mail server

    WebMail
    URL: http://www.google.com/mail

    Advanced tab ...

    Incoming mail (IMAP): 993
Checked ... The server requires a secure connection (SSL)
    Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465
Checked ... The server requires a secure connection (SSL)

    HTH,

    Cheers.

Has anyone had any further problems with setting up a gmail account in Aspire Mail? I have all the above settings but when it tries to verify the account it tries for a few minutes then doesnt succeed. I'm stuck for ideas - my gmail account is set up for imap etc so i cant think what is going wrong.

    thanks
    Hana

Maybe you have to enable POP just like you enabled IMAP?
