I have the Acer Aspire One (AOD150-1165) 10.1" 2GB ram; 160GB HD; WinXPsp3 and notice in lower right of screen (system tray) an icon which I did not recognize. When I place the cursor over the icon it reads: "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile."
I wonder just what this is and whether I have to leave that icon there?
Is it necessary to leave it there?
If not, how would I remove it (the icon from the tray)?
Would removing it (the icon) cause any problems on/with the Acer?
Or should I just leave it there?
(I just don't like having too many icons in the system tray and not knowing why they are there and what they are supposed to be doing. I presume that the icon means some program was 'automatically' started when Acer was turned on.

    Thanks for any enlightenment.

not needed, it's a "convenience" icon.
I normally remove stuff like that by using msconfig -> startup.

Open the intel graphic icon, then click "disable icon in notification area".

    Thank you both.

Goofball: I looked in msconfig and can't find something that pertains to this Intel Graphic icon that is showing. If it is there, and I un-check it, would it cause any problems to the computer?

Jackluo923: When I click on the Intel Graphic icon, I do not see any mention of "Disable icon in notification area."
