Well, I just recieved a 18" Advent All in One from PC World - it's ATOM based and wowza on the screen size. I bet Intel helped PC World in the making and marketing of these (Advent are PC World's own brand of computers).

As a funny I thought I'd also point out this.....
My dad picked it up when he was in the UK and the 'Tech Guys' (the PC World in-house specialists) told him it can't run MS Office (not powerful enough it seems). I showed my dad my Aspire One being used to Photoshop 100 MB files to show that you can't always trust so called experts !!!!

I am running Adobe Creative Suite software, MS Office and a few photo editing programs on my AAO. So far if there are any restrictions, I have not encountered them yet. :D

Yep when I bought mine I was told it would only be good for surfing the web.... But the specs was far better then a laptop I had two year ago.... And I ran shed loads of software and games on it.. I currently run 3d terrain gen software... 3d mapping software and some very power hungry games on my netbook...... Much the same as I did on the mentioned laptop. It would seem they down sell them so that they don't get people bringing them back because they don't do what they want(without trying a little harder to get it to work)... For me the there's only two things wrong with the netbook...1) max of 1.5gigs of ram.... 2)graphics card ok it is 8 meg to 256 meg shared but it is a little CR*P .... They are my only faults...

    regards
    Andrew

Many sales folks do not have your interest at stake, just their commissions. Think about it. The commission on an AAO is less than half of one of the regular laptops. Some sales teams are given directives to steer customers away from certain products, and told to push others (generally more expensive ones). I found doing my research in advance of any purchase gives me the answers to confound many a preset sales pitch. They (the sales folks) rely on the uneducated and naive customer, not experienced and educated ones.
