My SSD stopped working one day, it just shows "none" in the BIOS, so I'm booting ubuntu off a flash stick and using that. however, having it sticking out of the side is really unseemly, and I have a tiny, flat USB stick, almost half the size of a stick of gum, so it should fit inside the chassis. Is there any way to wire it from the USB ports and just tuck it inside, maybe where the 3G card space is?

The other way would be to boot it from SD, but apparently it's not viable without putting the bootloader somewhere the BIOS can see :(.

What model AAO are you using? Some of them will boot from the SD card and some will not?

I'm sorry that I can't remember where they are, but I know there are some extra USB places inside the case that you can solder to for adding USB devices. Also I seem to remember something about a bios update that allowed booting from an SD card. I know my D150-1920 will boot from an SD card but I have not upgraded my bios on my ZG5 so I am not sure if it is possible to boot from an SD card with a bios upgrade.
